JACKY FIELD | ABSINTHE + VERMILLION

In 2016 I moved into my new studio with light bouncing all around. The luminosity of the space, enhancing my perception of colour, has made it a delight working on this series of new works, Absinthe + Vermillion.

I predominately work with colour, and have done so for a long time. In the past, I would often mix colour for days on end. Now, with experience, I am more trusting of my intuitive response to colour.

ARTWORKS FROM THE ESTATE OF JUDY CASSAB

Most people know Judy Cassab through her celebrated portraits.
She was the second woman to win the Archibald prize, and she
won it twice, Nora Heysen was the first. Her portrait of Robert
Morley is in the Queensland Art Gallery and her portrait of Hugh
Gaitskill which is in the National Portrait Gallery, London, has
provided her with an international reputation.

Our galleries situated on Queen Street in Woollahra are periodically available for hire, providing an alternative for artists and curators to broaden their exposure and clientele. We have created three elegant gallery spaces to afford clients the highest level of exposure for their works. Shapiro Auctioneers can provide exhibitors with a variety of marketing services in conjunction with the gallery hire, including direct mail and email campaigns.
