John Hall Thorpe (1874-1947), better known as Hall Thorpe, was an artistic pioneer of meticulous skill. Born in Sandridge, Victoria, he produced each wood block piece from numerous plates and these highly decorative works were met with generous public acclaim, particularly in the United Kingdom. Collectors are now rediscovering an appreciation for this trail blazing artist and his bold designs that are emblematic of the early 20th Century.
