Part Porcelain Dessert Service, c. 1806

comprising an oblong comport and eight dessert plates, Prince of Wales Bamboo pattern, each piece decorated in ‘Pluck & Dust’ printed iron-red enamel and highlighted with gilt, plates retain Prince of Wales three feathers marks (9)

Measurements:
height 12 cm width 36.5 cm (comport); diameter 23.5 cm (plates)
Provenance:
This pattern was probably created for the Prince of Wales following his visit to the Spode factory, c. 1806

A similar dish illustrated as number 157, Leonard Whiter, Spode, a History of the Family, Factory & Wares from 1733 to 1833, second edition 1978; this dish is noted as being in the Spode Museum at this time
