Charles Brudenell-Bruce (1773-1856), 2nd Earl of Ailesbury. Charles succeeded his father to the earldom 19th April 1814, which no doubt prompted this order for plates from Garrards registering his new status. He was additionally created Knight of the Thistle in 1819 and his earldom was advanced to marquessate in July 1821
