vase form on spreading foot having half fluted body with bold shell and foliate rim below shallow neck, the upper section having scrolled decoration and rim spout, fluted flat hinged lid and mounted with looped wooden handle having bifurcating serpent head and tail sockets with crest engaved to body, bearing marks for William Burwash, London 1818
