The Staffordshire dog appears in several other paintings including Still life Staffordshire, 1938/39, Collection National Gallery of Australia, illustrated Adrian Feint Cornucopia, Wakefield Press, 2009, p 82 and mischievously appears as Untitled (Tasmanian tiger) in a 1971 pencil sketch now in the New England Regional Art Museum, Armidale.
